At MTC practise we follow the DfE assessment criteria for each test:

-
our tests mirror the DfE software interface
-
we use their upper and lower limits for both number 1 and number 2 (n1 x n2)
-
our high frequency questions are the 6, 7, 8, 9 and 12 multiplication tables because these are the most challenging
-
there are between 3 and 7 KS1 questions in each test
-
there are 25 questions
-
each question will appear on screen for 6 seconds
-
there is a 3 second pause between each question
-
we do not repeat a question within a test
-
we have no reversals of questions within a test (eg 8 x 3 and 3 x 8)

Please note schools are able to access a practise area prior to the assessment window opening, so pupils can experience using the DfE interface. It is highly recommended all pupils do this practise.
